Intended Impacts
CBTI’s organizational goal is that children have access to the social, emotional and behavioral support they need, from trained, competent caregivers (including family members), enabling them to enter elementary school socially and emotionally healthy and ready to learn. CBTI’s objectives are to:
- improve and expand high-quality, evidence-based training to equip infant and early childhood professionals with the knowledge and skills to nurture children’s social/emotional well-being, prevent emotional and cognitive disruption, and intervene with positive behavioral support when development goes awry; and
- engage in systems design, policy advocacy, visibility, and research aimed at embedding a focus on children’s social/emotional health and relationships with adults into pre- and in-service educator training programs, and local and state early childhood systems and policies.
CBTI works across sectors, creating innovative, state-of-the-art programming, and impacting policy.
